Purposeful Lean: Scaling Improvement Through Purpose, People and Innovation

Synopsis:

Many organisations achieve Lean success in pockets but struggle to scale a sustainable culture of improvement. This session introduces Purposeful Lean, an evolution of Lean that integrates Purposeful Kaizen (continuous improvement), Purposeful Kaikaku (radical change) and Purposeful Kakushin (breakthrough innovation) through a unifying system of Purposeful Governance.

This approach connects culture and structure by aligning decisions and actions around purpose, people, place and planet - using practical mechanisms such as Purposeful Decision Filters. It links daily improvement, step-change transformation, and future-focused innovation into a single, coherent system for scalable change.

Critically, change remains people-powered, supported - but not driven - by technology. AI with Purpose (AI-P) is used to remove voluminous low-value work and enable better decisions, while human capability, judgement and motivation remain central.

The session will show how this integrated approach builds trust, engagement and the conditions for sustained, organisation-wide improvement.
