The 21st century - from measuring 'value' to measuring 'values'

A recent conversation between Jack Parsons (CEO Youth Group) and Nadhim Zahawi (UK Education Minister) provided great insight ... and it would be great to see "What gets measured gets done" start to become a UK mantra too.

This statement is particularly pertinent when "what gets measured" (Good Points®) is intrinsically motivating and "Good" for our psychological well-being as well as the world around us too.

And this is why the Good Turns Foundation has been set up in the UK, with plans to spread as far afield as New Zealand, the US and Australia.

The Good Turns Foundation has a mission of 'creating a world where good is valued and people and communities thrive' ... and to do this we are introducing a new measure of value to bring this mission to life ( Good Points® ) ... we fully understand how measures can drive behaviours ... and how psychological well-being is the path to a much better and brighter future too ...

The brilliant Dr W. Edwards Deming, an inspiration to me and a man before his time, wrote his landmark 'The New Economics: For Industry, Economics, Education' over 20 years ago (after writing 'Out of the Crisis') ...

Well the CRISIS is now upon us and the time to act is NOW ...

The highly respected ex Governor of the Bank of England, Mark Carney, also recently took to the floor to highlight the fundamental deficiencies in existing economic systems, providing brilliant economic and philosophical insights, and pointing to the future - and a world where 'values' become valued (i.e. 'Good')

A truly powerful oratory and one that should go down in history ...
