"The power of Storytelling ... and shouting out loud about all your good points!"

[June 27th 2022]

A fantastic discussion between Tom Biyleu and Steven Barlett recently highlighted the importance of meaning in one's life ... and Tom's passion/purpose in life is storytelling ... being able to use stories to help people and to improve lives.

The importance of stories is also explored in a recent interview (with renowned therapist Marisa Peer too, who highlighted how the mind is not as complicated as we think! ... Marisa explains how our beliefs are formed by only two things; the pictures our mind creates in our head and the words we tell ourselves.

More and more people are starting to realise the importance/power of self-belief and the pictures/stories the mind tells itself every single day. For instance if you believe you're going to fail then you will, if you believe you'll succeed and have a happy fulfilling life in the future then you will ...

Our minds either work for us or against us, as the filters our mind sets serve to re-enforce what we choose to believe and what it thinks we want to hear ... with both positive/negative cycles possible as our beliefs help shape the pictures we create in our head and the stories we tell ourselves too (e.g. here's a popular psychological picture test too).

It turns out that the world is all about stories, and the most important story is the one you tell yourself every single day ... by removing negative thoughts and shouting out loud (including to yourself) about all your good points it is possible to reframe this story, embrace optimism, reset the mind's filters and look forward to a happier and more fulfilling life ...

Changing these stories has the unique power to transform well-being and to change people's lives forever ...
